Six years ago at age 19, I was inspired to
create
Beyond the Global Divide (BGD), an international gathering of young
leaders and elders who come together to share and support each other to
create programs, projects, and movements that will inspire humanity. In 2002
for the first time we shared and address the challenges affecting humanity
and possibilities for a sustainable future for generations to come. We
embrace our potential for change and evolution.
My vision has since evolved into an international leadership model that has
attracted and inspired more than 120 young leaders representing six
continents and a 62-member Council of Elders. I am supported as the Vision
Keeper of BGD by a passionately committed group of core leaders who share my
vision and commitment to doing the work to make world peace real. October
2007, core members and I held the 5th BGD summit in Hague,
Netherlands to connect with young leaders in Europe. Myself and
three of BGD core members were sponsored by URI, for a two week Summit held
in India to stop religiously motivated valance.
We feel it is most fitting to "show up" to experience as many divers group
as possible understand the issues impacting our
lives.
We need to hear their ideas for world peace and understand their worldviews
as we celebrate both our differences and commonalities.
With these gathering of many different cultures, generations, and regions we
begin to receive wisdom and guidance in our mission for world peace..
This is what I inspire other young leaders to do in their work and service
to community.
I am also the
Director of the Spirit of Truth Foundation, a 501 (c)(3) truth-seeking
organization established by my parents in 1991 in Washington, D.C.
