
Lanelle Henderson, President and
chief executive officer of PromoGirl, is a graduate of the
Cecil B. Day School of Hospitality, at Georgia State University’s J. Mack
Robinson College of Business. Lanelle has over 15 years of hospitality,
sales, and marketing experience. She transitioned her company to PromoGirl
in 2008 after founding a successful marketing company/welcome service,
Welcome 2 the Neighborhood, LLC, (W2TN) in 2003.
Widely known as a “southern hospitality specialist,” Henderson’s company,
PromoGirl
is a promotional marketing company that services businesses with creative
marketing and advertising strategies.
She conducts several marketing seminars around
metro Atlanta monthly, and educates business owners and marketers on e-mail
marketing strategies.
In 2006, Ms. Henderson initiated the Women on the Move
Interactive Power Series, a business networking group for diverse women to
educate on relative business practices. Now in its third year, she has
founded the Helping Other Women Network and plans on taking the event on the
road.
Henderson is a 2007 graduate of the FastTrac GrowthVenture program offered
by the State of Georgia and was one of three finalists for the 2007
Trailblazer Award by
Georgia Women’s Business Council in her first year as a Certified Woman
Owned Business.
She has been published in
Lodging
Magazine and Prentice Hall’s
Introduction to the Hospitality Industry
2004 and 2007 textbooks.
She’s also been featured in several news
publications including
Georgia Trend’s Best Places to Work (November 2006), Henry Medical Center’s
Health for Life (September 2006), The Atlanta Journal and Constitution,
Daily Herald, Henry Times, Henry Neighbor, arts&expressions Magazine,
and has been seen on SCB-TV’s “The Perspective” and WXIA-11 Alive News
Saturday Morning.
Active in civic and community organizations, Lanelle is a member of the
Georgia Association of Promotional Products Professionals . Currently serves
at the co-chair of the Hospitality Alumni Leadership Council, President of
the Hospitality Alumni Club
and a member of the Cecil B. Day School of Hospitality Advisory Board at
Georgia
State University.
She has recently completed a three-year term as
a board member of the Henry County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors
and Leadership Henry Board of Directors.
Lanelle has received the
2007 Outstanding Volunteer Award in
Henry County from United Way and the first recipient
to receive the Joyce
Rodgers Heart of Henry Award.
Prior to starting her own business, Henderson held
management positions with Hilton
and Marriott hotels in sales and marketing. She served as a graphics
designer for
several years with the Centers for Disease Control, Marsh and freelanced for
other organizations, like The Cola Cola Company. Her primary interests are
hospitality, community, and education with a focus on empowering women.
Lanelle is a native New Yorker who has resided in Georgia for 19 years. She
is single and has one son, Darryl, currently attending St. Johns University.
Her hobbies are cooking, traveling and reading.
