Pat Tobin is a sociologist devoted to the study of the Universe as seen through the eyes of the American consumer. She is a brave soul and the Countess of Relevant Research. Tobin works with
a diverse group of research experts who share a fascination with human behavior, an enthusiasm for exploration and a fondness for talking to strangers. 

Tobin is best known for her ability to listen with great care to what people say and notice what they don’t say. The depth of her understanding of consumer behavior reaches through all the layers of hype and posturing to get to the emotional core of the decision-making process. For only by reaching that core can you truly understand the relationship between consumer and product. 

Media consumerism by children is of special interest to Tobin and she makes herself useful to the developers of that media in many ways. She believes in the perfection of children at every age and stage. This extends to the adult world where she finds herself conducting more and more research with baby boomers, a group also at a perfect age and stage. If only they knew.
