in 1990 and served until
2002 when she left to pursue her passion of wellness education.
During her legislative career
she worked with numerous community groups. Her ability to
facilitate consensus on a variety
of legislative issues lead to her appointment as an
Administration Floor Leader by Governor
Roy E. Barnes in 1998. As the first African American female to
be appointed, she was responsible for coordinating the
successful passage of the Governor's extensive legislative
package. She was serving
in that position until she left the legislature in 2002. In

live-call in program until 2002.
In 1992 she founded 'Circles of Wellness, Inc.'
which continues to address the pandemic of chronic
illness in our community by providing seminars and workshops on
healthy lifestyles. In 2004
under the auspices of 'Circles of Wellness' she embarked on
addressing the wellness
needs of men with' Men on Mondays'. Men on Mondays is
specifically designed to coach men
into taking better care of themselves. Men, including several
physicians work with other men.
'Men on Mondays' will re-launch in September, 2008.
